Baron Wormser
Baron Wormser (1948–2025) published eleven collection of poetry. He served as the poet laureate of Maine for six years and, in addition to novels and other books of prose, wrote a memoir about his experiences living “off the grid” in rural Maine, The Road Washes Out in Spring: A Poet’s Memoir of Living Off the Grid (University Press of New England, 2006). He received the Frederick Bock Prize, the Kathryn A. Morton Prize, and fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts.
