Gabriel Brownstein won the PEN/Hemingway Award for his book of stories, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Apt. 3W (W. W. Norton & Co., 2002), and is the author of a novel, The Man from Beyond (Norton, 2005). He teaches English at St. John’s University in Queens, New York. (updated 10/2011)
